I choose subjects close to my heart, with themes that celebrate the triumph of the human spirit. I draw on personal experience to explore universal themes. I try to use the language of film to challenge our comfort levels and beliefs, shedding light on unseen and/or forgotten subjects. I like to build connections with those in my films and allow them to open up and share freely. I believe it is also imperative to play with the medium to create a full immersive artistic experience.

I believe in student centered, project-based learning and in meeting the students where they are – culturally, developmentally, and interest wise. I then think it is important to take them to the next level while letting them find and follow their own path. As an educator, I serve as a source of knowledge and inspiration, a guide, and a mentor.
